Private Charles Warwick Terry
Born 28th February 1880, Charles was the son of Henry and Edith Terry and had five siblings. Having left the College in 1893 whilst in the Lower 3rd, he moved out to East Africa. While there he managed the Sharna Mines in South Rhodesia (modern day Zimbabwe).
Whilst out in South Rhodesia war broke out back in Europe, and Charles signed up whilst still in Rhodesia with the Inns of Court Officer Training Corps in 1916. From here he served in British East Africa (modern day Kenya and Uganda) for 2 years before returning to England for a commission. Unfortunately, during this period he contracted influenza and pneumonia from which he died shortly after, on 5th November 1918, and is buried in Cheltenham Cemetery, Prestbury.
