Rifleman Allan Gordon Morter
Born 15th February 1887, Allan was the third of four children of James and Ada Morter. Having joined Dulwich in 1900, Allan left in 1901 during his time in the Lower 3rd. After leaving the College, Allan joined his father’s company, Morter’s Stores Ltd, and worked as a Fish Salesman. Later in 1914, upon his father’s death, he became the director of the company.
Allan continued to work in this role even after the war had started, until, in early 1917, he joined up with the London Regiment and went to Surrey to train. Unfortunately, whilst training, Allan died on 7th March 1917. He is buried in Lingfield Churchyard.
