Lieutenant Norman Richard Jepson
Norman was born on August 3rd 1895, the younger of two children, and only son, of John Jepson, secretary in a building firm, and his wife, Adelaide. He spent some years at the Prep before coming to the College in June 1908. He went on to be at the school for almost four years, leaving in the spring of 1912. Following his time at the Dulwich he went on study at the Royal College of Science, which was a constituent of London University.
When war was declared in the summer of 1914 Norman was on holiday in Archangel, Northern Russia, and upon his return he joined the London University O.T.C. Very shortly afterwards, that October, he was given a commission in the Royal Fusiliers. On September 23rd 1915, having been promoted to Lieutenant, he was sent to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, and reassigned to Gallipoli. Shortly after his arrival in the Dardanelles he met his death, killed in action at Suvla Bay on October 15th, barely two months past his twentieth birthday. He is still listed as a 2nd Lieutenant on the CWGC.
