2nd Lieutenant Owen Gurney Fox
Born 12th October 1869, Owen was the son of Major Walter Fox, of the Royal Artillery, and his wife, Geraldyne, and had seven siblings, of whom only his brother Reginald also attended the College. Upon leaving Dulwich, Owen went to Kelly College, Tavistock, before joining the 3rd Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment. In April 1889 Owen was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant and gained a commission in the South African War with the Cape Mounted Rifles. Three years later, in February 1891, he was promoted to Lieutenant, but soon retired.
In 1916, Owen again joined up with the army, although this time with the 3rd Battalion Dorset Regiment. On the 6th February 1917, Owen was killed in action at Louent, France, being buried in Beaumont-Hamel British Cemetery.
