Born 9th September 1882 near Clapham Park, Wilfred was the son of Wilfred Alan Dawson, stockbroker, and his wife, Mary, and had a brother, Bernard. Having joined the College in 1899, Wilfred left a year later in 1900, whilst a member of the Upper 4th. Upon leaving, he became a banking clerk at his father’s firm. Throughout this time he lived at home with his parents and brother.
In 1915, a year after the war started, Wilfred signed up with the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and was shortly shipped across to France. Unfortunately, whilst in the La Vacquerie region, Wilfred died on the 3rd December 1917. He is buried at the Cambrai Memorial, Louveral.
