2nd Lieutenant Stanley Cundall
Born 6th August 1891, he was the son of Joseph Cundall; unfortunately Stanley’s mother died before he was 10 years old, leaving him and his two younger siblings to be raised by their father. He started at the College in 1906, and left just a year later, whilst still only a member of the 2nd form. Later he was to work in the City, ultimately becoming a clerk at the London Stock Exchange.
During the war he originally served as a Private in the 10th Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers, before, in spring of 1917, being transferred to serve as a 2nd Lieutenant in the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Whilst serving in the 9th Battalion of that regiment he was killed in Flanders on April 21st 1918, being buried in Klein-Vierstraat British Cemetery. He left behind a widow, Florence Beatrice.
