Private Percy Lindop Bright

Born on the 7th of December 1880 in Liverpool, Percy was the son of Alfred and Elizabeth Bright and had three siblings, two of whom, William and Geoffrey, also went to Dulwich. Before attending Dulwich, he was at the Prep. Having joined the College in 1894, Percy left in 1899 whilst in the Upper 4th. Within a year of leaving, he was training as a farmer in Middlesex at the Vale Farm. Upon completing his training he moved to Edmonton, Canada and began to work as a farmer over there, before returning to England in about 1911.

Following the outbreak of war, Percy signed up with the Royal West Kent Regiment. In 1917 he unfortunately contracted frostbite, later passing away in October 1918 of unknown causes. He is buried in St John’s Churchyard, Shirley.
