Dear Sir,
I have enclosed this cutting as my dear sweet [?] son in his correspondence could not give me the names and God took him he could not take me himself He was honoured all to gether in France [?]- Buried in the trenches after several hours they got him out he met out there one of his old Dulwich Masters he was one of the most loving sons – God alone knows what a loss he has been to me I should gladly have given my life to have saved him. The last words I ever heard speak was these hold close my dearest Ma to God – and we never meet again.
Mite you please kindly return the papers etc. to me when you have finished with them
Yours truly,
