A Leighton First Brother Letter

Dear Christison,
Thank you for you letter. The particulars of my brother Archie’s service were as follows.
Joined the lads of the London Scotland in August ‘14. Obtained a commission in the ASC in April ’15 & posted to the 34th Division to train. Went to France with the division in Jan ’16. Mentioned in despatches May ’17. Transferred to infantry in Dec ’17 attached to the London Rgt. Joined the 1st Battallion Civil Services Rifles in France in March ’18. Killed in Sept 2/18 outside MOISLAINE while leading his company against a strong enemy position.
The plans ___ ___ ___. I shall be glad when ___ ___ life under these conditions is not all that could be desired.
