Dear Sir,
I enclose my brother’s photo which is the only one I have. I’m sorry I have very little to tell you of his career beyond the fact that he went to China after leaving Dulwich & joined the firm of Jardine Matheson for some years, then to Canada. On outbreak [sic] of war he came home with the Canadian contingent. He secured a job as interpreter in the Chinese Labour battalion on account of his knowledge of the language and was killed by a shell while tendering aid to a Chinaman. I enclose the address of his wife although I do not know if she has moved or not. No doubt you will get something more definite from her. He left one child, a boy whose name I believe is already entered for Dulwich College. Hoping this may be useful. I am
Yours truly
