Quitmann ECR Brother Letter 1
Quitmann ECR Brother Letter 2

Dear Mr Christison,

Many thanks for your letter of the 10th just which I regret that I have not been able to answer before.

My brother ECR Quitmann served in the 6th Middlesex I.L. Coy & and joined the corps in April 1917. The first 3 months was stationed at Sevenoaks & was then sent to Hastings attached to the RAF. In the beginning of February he was drafted to France & served on the Somme front, dying in the 26th C.C.S. at St Requein on 16th June 1918. He would have been 19 years old on the 27th of June

As requested I enclose a portrait & as you will observe he served in the ranks.

I shall be pleased to give you any further information and memories.

Yours Sincerely,

F Quitmann

Kindly turn the enclosed photograph & much oblige.

I shall be pleased to have one of the books when my brother has been entered in some. Kindly also see that [2] that his name is put on the war memorial at Dulwich. We all thank you very much for your trouble.

My brother O.C.E.J & myself also served during the war & were for 2 ½ years in France & Belgium with the Middlesex Regt.
