Dear Mr. Christison,
Sorry for delay – you will see cause of same on enclosed – which needed all my strength – on Oct. 27 & before – Thomas Alfred Packman age 19 (my son) “joined up” the day war was declared – in R.H.A. Commission Aug. 14th 1914 – went to France & first battle Nov. 5 – full Lieut. June 22nd 1915 – special work from July 1916 – to death on Sept. 9. 1916 – was Trench Mortar Battery work at observation post – by sniper. Given military funeral & buried at Vermelles – when all the “Battery” were present, who could be spared at time.
