2nd Lieutenant Frank Charles Henry Gilbert
Born 27th December 1885, Frank was the son of army Major Walter Gilbert and his wife, Isabelle. He had two siblings, one of whom, Archibald, also attended the College. Having joined in 1898, Frank left in 1900 and went to study at Aldenham School, Hertfordshire. By 1911, Frank was a Clerk (3rd Class), and had returned to live at home.
During the war Frank served with the 14th Battalion Hampshire Regiment, passing away on the 23rd of April 1916, at the age of 30. He is buried at Guards Cemetery near Cuinchy.
